This long-awaited book showcases the Goodhart samplers at Montacute House. Authored by three very knowledgeable sampler experts, this book looks at the 257 samplers that make up this collection. Dorothy Bromiley Phelan, noted author of The Point of the Needle, lends her expertise to the 75 spot samplers included in the collection. The 98 band samplers are described and explained by Eva-Lotta Hansson, Curator of the Royal School of Needlework Textile Collection at Hampton Court Palace. Finally, the later samplers are covered by Jacqueline Holdsworth, the founder of Needleprint.
